Doorbells. They freak out cats and wake up babies. Whether you wind up with a shivering feline or a wailing wee one (or both), here's a great method of dulling that ding-dong. According to the instructor on Instructables, the procedure is easy enough.
- First, locate your doorbell.
- Lift off the cover of the doorbell.
- Go to your refrigerator and find a couple of magnets of the 'business card' variety that will fit inside the doorbell and it's cover.
- Next, stick the magnets on the chimes underneath the doorbell's plungers (the things that strike the chimes and make the 'ding-dong' sound).
- Finally, replace the cover, and you're done. Next time someone pushes your door chime button, your chime inside will go from 'ding-dong' to a 'did-dud' keeping baby from waking and the cat from having a kitty coronary.
